Where have all the rhodites gone?
Long time passing...
Where have all the rhodites gone?
Long time ago...
Where have all the rhodites gone?
Gone to RealLife(TM) every one.
When will they ever learn?

"...Lincoln grew up to be very long and narrow, which turned out to be
the ideal physique for splitting rails. Young Abe would get out there
with his ax, and he'd split hundreds of rails at a time, and people
would come from miles around. 'Dammit, Lincoln,' they'd say, 'those
rails cost good money!' But in the end they forgave young Abe, because
he had the ax." -- Dave Barry

It's a bit late for that advice. Singaporean food took care of that. The
slim Sid of the rhod of yesteryear is no more.

When and where are you going to be around? Will you be passing through the
San Francisco area at any point?

Sorry to hear that. What is Singaporean food like? I've never seen a
Singaporean restaurant here in the States. Apparently we don't have too many
Singaporean immigrants, at least around here.

If you find yourself at or near the Portsmouth, NH area, give me a
holler.

Jeffrey and Chris. I might be moving there (for a couple of years at least)
this fall. Just need a change and I'll be in grad school. I am undecided
right now but the top probability seems to Ann Arbor, Michigan (or Chicago
if that works out). There's a late result coming out for Berkeley as well
but it may be too late to influence my decision.
Twice I have come to Nashua/Manchester, NH and twice I have squandered the
opportunity to meet Jeffrey. I have been only to LA and not to the Bay area
in California. I will try and change all of that.

It's a mixture of cuisines, really. Basically, a lot of Malay cuisine;
Chinese cuisine which slowly induced local variants and is now quite
different from the mainland (or Taiwan/Hong Kong) fare; Indian cuisine
which again, has very little to do with Indian food you'll find elsewhere.

Hmm, interesting. "Because it is often viewed by her population as central
to Singapore's national identity and a unifying cultural thread, Singaporean
literature often declares eating as a national pastime and food a national
obsession. Food is a constant topic of conversation among Singaporeans who
like to comment on the food they have eaten and the eateries around the
country."
With attitudes like that, no wonder you've been chubbing out...

Thanks. Heh, I like your "Speaker to Lab Animals" moniker. One of my
ProgressQuest characters is named "Speaker to Vegetables".

You do realize that Chris and I are on opposite sides of the continent,
right?

Of course. I am just restless/nomadic normally. The last two times I
visited the US, I travelled to 10 states in all (some for shorter durations
than the others). I will find some excuse to visit both sides. I have
friends on the west coast. My brother used to live in NH but he has moved
to Virginia.
