(Yes, it's safe for work!)
This is a 1959 South Korean TV spot for Jinro Soju. Soju is a (very
potent) rice-based alcoholic beverage.

So remember, this bright and bouncy cartoon is selling **booze**.
My brother, who was stationed at Osan AB while in the USAF, has told me
horror stories of "The Soju Experience": How it goes down so smooth,
hits you like a lead-filled 2x4 seconds later, and gives you a hangover
that leaves you praying for death as you wonder just what happened the
night before.

lol, Polmos.
actually, polmos is so potent it's hard to get it down - the fumes make
your throat contract like a homophobe's sphincter. |

soju *might* go down more smoothly than Polish spirit, because soju
is made from rice - i think it's basically distilled sake.
and then we have (at least in some US states) Everclear. this is
190 proof (95%) pure grain alcohol - there's a drawing of an ear
of corn on the label. this is the closest you can come to pure
ethanol without special handling, since alcohol will absorb water
out of the air. mostly i use Everclear for making extracts (ask
me sometime about the habaņero pepper extract), but one New Year's
Eve, my only begotten son challenged me to do a shot of it along
with him. so i did. the fumes didn't make my throat close up, but
they did impair my breathing for about thirty seconds. 151-proof
rum was actually harsher to drink.
